This month saw the beginning of a great campaign… A national #usdawontour campaign!


We launched a media campaign in Blackpool at the annual Usdaw conference in April, which was subsequently seen and used by over 500 delegates and members of the public on the first day. Usdaw is the Union of Shop, Distributive and Allied Workers, and their aim is “to recruit, organise and represent workers in the retail, distributive, manufacturing and service sectors for the purpose of securing the best possible terms and conditions and providing support and protection at work.”


The tour (AKA #USDAWONTOUR) is a 3 month tour, visiting fifteen towns and cities across the UK. Fifteen. That’s a lot! This includes over seventy workplace days and town centre engagement days. Seventy now! The numbers just keep getting bigger. Don’t believe me? Hear this: The tour also celebrates the 125th anniversary of Usdaw, a number so large that I opted for numbers in place of letters. If 125 years of great work isn’t worth celebrating, then what is?


Ultimately, the campaign will increase awareness of Usdaw and its vast range of services, whilst increasing overall membership. We’ve got a feeling it’ll work!
